Who are Bath Activist Network? - Info & contact details

Bath Activist Network
Bath, Wessex, United Kingdom
We can no longer be contacted at bathactivistnet@yahoo.co.uk .We meet on the first Thursday of every month, Downstairs in the Hobgoblin, Bath between 7.30 and 9ish. Bath Activist Network are a coalition of progressive activists from Bath and the surrounding areas. We do not have a 'party line', and our group includes anarchists, anti-fascists, anti-capitalists, socialists, trade unionists, environmentalists, animal liberationists, anti-militarists, feminists and people who are all, or none of the above. Bath Activist Network is not a membership group, it is an umbrella under which local radicals can come together to share ideas, tactics and campaigns with the intention of unifying and making as effective as possible activist groups, campaigns and initiatives in the area.

No Border No Nation!

No Border No Nation!
BANners join freedom of movement/pro-asylum action

Some of our campaigns -

Local campaigns that we have initiated or taken part in include -*'We Won't Pay for their crisis!' - a campaign aimed at defending our communities against bailiffs, greedy bosses and politicians and the most damaging effects of the recession.

*Foie gras - along with Bath Animal Action, BAN has all but removed foie gras from Baths resteraunts and bistros. still a few places left though - so the campaign continues

*Freeshop - A BAN initiative aimed at promoting sharing and mutual aid above consumerism and corporate greed. A popular, and ever growing swapshop that takes place on stall street between 12-3 on the second saturday of every month. Donations, helpers and takers all welcome!

*Anti-fascist activity - Bath Activist Network and freinds have been working hard over the last couple of years to marginalise fascist politics in Bath. Since we disrupted and shut down a BNP meeting over a year ago, not much has gone on - but the fight continues!

*BAN activists are connected to a number of national campaigns and have been active in initiative such as climate camp, anti-G8 actions and NoBorders activities.

*Anti-War - BAN activists support the Bath Stop The War Coalition vigil - held weekly outside the Abbey between 11.30 and 12.30 every Saturday. We have also instigated several protests and direct actions against weapons manufacturers operating in Bath

And much more!
